I thought this would be a good time to show some of the contents of my awesome battlestation:

I've listen mostly the products that I know work and I've been so happy with them, I've actually gone trough the trouble and re-bought them. I'm not really the type of person who re-buys products, I'm pretty open minded and like experimenting, because you can never know if there's a better product out there, unless you try it. Some people's logic is 'this works, so I'll stick with it', mine's more like 'I know there's something better out there and I'll find it.' That's why I end up having craploads of cosmetics... however the good thing is that Korean cosmetics, which happen to be my favourite are not really that expensive and happen to be far more effective than 99% of high-end western brands.
I have really dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I'm not even going to go in details about what my skin used to be when I was a teenager. It was a living hell, thanks to which I'm left with acne scars all over my cheeks.
But fear not, for I have found the cure! It takes a long time, patience and most importantly - good habits. You must have a routine you follow every morning and every evening and you gotta follow it without a miss. No excuses, no drunk-sleeping-with-makeup nights - that's UNACCEPTABLE.
I would go into details why Korean cosmetics are better, but I'd rather let you guys have a browse of /r/asianbeauty. I'm sure we're all aware of the fact that Korea has the best plastic surgeons in the world. With the best skincare treatments, come the best cosmetics too. That's my simple, but solid logic. Do your research - share what you've found?
Here's a small list of my current favourites:
SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective - to make the tone on your face more even. It's in a serum form, I use no more than 3 drops on my face and tap evenly. I've seen a great difference since I've started using it and I'm at the end of the bottle now. It's a bit pricey, I got it for £30 off amazon, but it lasted me around 6 months.
Kiss Me Heroine Mascara. I believe this is one of the most popular mascaras in Asia. It stays on no matter what you do, I can't describe how lasting this mascara is. I've cried with it, I've rubbed my eyes with it and it's just not smudging - ever. Makes lashes look super long and extra black, without looking unnatural. Warning: If you're using anything different than an oil cleanser, you may not be able to take it off.
Mizon Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser. In fact - the whole Mizon Snail series. I believe what they're saying is that snail extract is 'rejuvenating and repairing dead skin cells'. I'm not too sure what it does to be honest, I just know my face feels like baby bottoms after that. I had some testers from the snail cream from Missha as well and was really happy with it, but I haven't decided if it's worth the $30 for the small bottle yet.
Mineral Water, as far as my Japanese reading goes. It's by Shiseido Hada Senka. This is a MUST HAVE. Especially if you're pale skinned like me, I don't go outside the door without this on my face. In fact I don't even go near the windows without it. It's more or less a sunscreen, but a moisturiser at the same time too. Don't ask me how, this is where my Japanese gets rusty. I use it under any makeup, usually as a base or before primer if I know I'll be out for long.
Ciracle Red Spot Cream. My Korean friend recommended me this. She went to get a laser treatment for her acne scars and the dermatologist gave her this cream after the session to speed up the recovery process. I've only been using it for 4 months, but I can already see my acne scars fading away a little. It's a miracle worker.
Mizon Oh! Shy Real Coloring Eyebrow Mascara. It's exactly what it says it is. I've been struggling with eyebrow mascaras for a while. I used to dye my eyebrows lighters, since they're naturally black, I kept looking for any sort of mascara that can lighten up my eyebrows, but most of them don't really have this magical ability. This one, however, does. MAGIC!
LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub. Or anything LUSH, really. I love their lip balms, their bath bombs, their face masks, shapoos... I just love handmade natural things, okay? Lips need extra care though. Especially if you have a terrible habit of biting your lips like me...
I think I'll stop here for today. I mean I can go on with my cosmetics for probably 60+ pages, really.
I can write up a tips and tricks at some point. Things I've learned, especially for super pale skin - this has been more or less the bane of my existence, but I learned how to take good care of it.
KOREAN COSMETICS: If you're wondering how I got my hands on these - No, I did not go to Korea, sadly. I make quite regular orders from roseroseshop - they deliver worldwide and quite quickly too. I've been really happy with their service.
Don forget your sunscreen and always look for that perfect foundation that matches your skintone like a chameleon!
See you soon
