Crisis Moon Compact

Last week I shared my morning routine, so I thought this week I would share my night time routine. It's a lot heavier than the morning routine, as I have to make sure I get rid of all the make-up and nasties that have gone to my skin during the day. Living in a big city is harsh for the skin.

The only thing I do change quite often is my cleanser. I've noticed that if I stick to one cleanser for over a bottle it starts to lose the effect and the skin gets too used to it, so every time I run out of cleanser I buy a new different one, which gives me the opportunity to explore loads of them!

I usually have two of them lying around as well, to mix them up - I would use one today, the other one tomorrow.

My Night Time Skincare Routine:

1. Oil cleanser to remove all that makeup, including that super hard to remove waterproof mascara. Oil cleansers are the best thing humans have created. Seriously, no other makeup remover will remove all this makeup so efficient and leave your skin without any trace of makeup and smooth and shiny! Here's my absolute favourite pick:

Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil

2. Cleanser to clean the pores from the inside out, making sure there's no nasties left, giving you a clean, shining new face!

Missha Liquidly Facial Cleanser. It comes out as liquid but turns to foam when you rub it. It's super gentle to the skin, highly recommend it for sensitive skin.

Mizon Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser. It's a lot thicker texture than the Missha one, it comes off as almost paste and when you rub it it turns into a thick foam, making a thick layer of it on your face, it feels quite heavy, but it's truly magical. I highly recommend it for damaged/dry skin with acne scars or other imperfections. In fact the whole Mizon Snail Recovery series is great for exactly what it says - recovery.

3. Toner is the natural step after every cleanser. I don't know how I survived back in the day when I thought I don't need a toner. The holy trinity in skincare is cleanser-toner-cream and I stick to it at all times. Using toner is also a great indicator to see how good your makeup remover and cleanser are - if there's some makeup left on the cotton pad, you may want to think about getting new ones.

The Face Shop Blemish Zero Clarifying Toner. I chose this AHA and BHA heavy toner, because they're crucial ingredients for sensitive and acne-prone skin. If you have any acne or wounds on your skin - it will sting. Be warned. That only means it's doing its job.

4. Serum is an extra step before the cream that I've learned to take from Korean cosmetics and friends. I believe in western skincare products the serum is seen as something you use when you're in your late 30s+ for wrinkles and younger skin, but in Asian skincare more or less everyone uses serums for all sorts of reasons. There's different types for all sorts of skins and issues. I personally have found out that serums are the best way to recover acne scars and fade red spots.

Mizon Skin Renewal Program AHA 8%

Here is a very awesome guide by JoanOfSarcasm on /r/skincareaddiction to what BHA and AHA is and what's the best type for your skin.

I read that and I instantly knew I need more AHA in my life, so I bought this serum. Keep in mind it IS rather strong, it will sting/burn if you have acne, but it's totally worth the result. If it dries out your skin too much, use it like 1-2 times a week.

5. Cream - for this step, if you're not using a sleeping cream to stay overnight I highly recommend using a specialised night cream instead. I personally have decided to use a strong cream to even out my face colour, as that's what I need most and then use a more moisturising night/sleeping mask.

LRP Effaclar Duo. I have really mixed feelings about this brand, as it's quite overpriced for what it is and it's a really wildcard. I've seen people have terrible reactions to the products and I myself wasn't happy with their moisturisers at all, but this specific product seems to have mostly positive reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. I haven't noticed much of a difference yet, but I think it's too soon to tell. I will report later on, but thankfully there's no bad effects from it

6. Sleeping Mask - I found out about those thanks to Korean cosmetics once again. It's essentially like a night cream, except a lot stronger, since it's a mask and it doesn't all sink in your skin, so you have to wash it off in the morning. Don't worry about rolling it all over your pillow, make sure you massage your face nicely and leave it to dry for a few minutes before going to bed and it should be all fine. If it still feels moist then you may be using too much. But don't use it as a cream either - put a thick layer on.

The Saem Snail Trio Lavender Sleeping Pack

It has the most adorable packaging EVER! And as it says - it smells of lavender, which, according to science, helps you sleep and have nice dreams. Unless you hate the smell. I don't use the sleeping pack right after I'm done with all the steps above. I usually come back from work, do the steps above and then before I go to bed, a few hours later, I put on the Snail Lavender cream. I give some time for the other cream to absorb before putting something on top.

That's all today! Thank you for reading and please look forward to my next YouTube video. For now, check out my first Vlog Entry:

And don't forget... MOON PRISM POWER MAKE UP!
